Jim and Jackie Winkowski are Upper Peninsula of Michigan natives with a lifelong appreciation for animals, nature, and the outdoors.  Both are former marathon runners who during snowless months enjoy hiking, biking, and river kayaking, but most of all, spending time with their dogs.

Jim and Jackie have participated in numerous dogsledding and skijoring events. They are members of the Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association, the organizing group of the sled dog races held each February, including the UP200, Midnight Run, and Jack Pine 30. The Winkowskis' primary focus is recreation and sharing the magic of the sport with others.
